On 15 September 2026, PhAI Labs launches the DFM Scientist Collaboration Program. The program brings DFM real and consequential scientific questions, high-value research data, interactive research environments, experimental and expert feedback, and real verification conditions that can test the system’s judgement.
AI can already retrieve literature, generate code, process data and assist with parts of the research workflow. But discovery often begins with a question that is not yet well defined. That process cannot happen only on static benchmarks or closed tasks. AI must enter real research environments, confront the questions scientists actually care about, and learn from experiments and reality.
The first cohort prioritizes life science and biomedicine, while remaining open to chemistry, materials and other frontier fields. We are looking for scientists with clear questions but limited AI systems capacity; laboratories with high-value data or computational environments; wet-lab teams able to provide real-world validation; and early-career PIs, postdocs and PhD students who want to explore DFM with us.
This is not a request queue but a research partnership. PhAI Labs brings AI research and engineering, models and compute, problem formulation and joint validation; scientists bring domain judgement and research context, and provide authorized access to data, tools or experimental conditions. Before substantive work begins, the parties document data scope, confidentiality, publication and IP arrangements in writing.
